The Rotary Club of Queen Creek has set April 25 for its fourth annual Run for Resilience.

Presented by Unison Mortgage, the run is held to support teen mental health as part of the Rotary’s focus on raising awareness of the many issues that affect teen mental wellness and providing resources to the community.

The run will begin at 7 a.m. at the Pecan Lake Entertainment Center, 25004 S. 206th Place, Queen Creek, and is adding a 10K race to its lineup. The Rotary Club also added a new 1-mile fun run for every age and skill level.

The event also will bring together local vendors and mental health professionals, participants, families and community members.

Last year, the Rotary Club of Queen Creek presented the Hope Foundation with a $5,000 check to cover mental health services for teens in the Queen Creek area.

Mayor Julia Wheatley, who will be kicking off the race, said,  “The Run for Resilience raises awareness for teen mental health and wellness and connects the community with resources.

“It also supports events and efforts to improve youth mental resilience, including funding for mental health counseling. In Queen Creek we are committed to the health and well being of our youth and we have a variety of teen programming happening throughout Queen Creek recreation.”

Wheatley noted, “Our Mayor’s Teen Advisory Committee continues to host events for the community like their first drive in movie this last holiday season and we recently held our first Adaptive Family Fun Night at the Queen Creek Recreation Center.

“We also know that the well-being of our youth is a community effort and it takes all of us from organizations like the Rotary Club to individuals like you who show up and participate.”
