Bethel is among 11 clinics across Mississippi, Alabama, and Texas to receive funding in this round, with a goal of helping to reduce stigma and improve patient engagement.
Bethel Free Health Clinic Executive Director Jan Vest said the money will allow the clinic to expand its mental health services, including therapy and medication, to serve more people in the community.
“This grant makes it possible for them to get free mental health therapy. We provided over 250 therapy sessions last year and will provide more this year free of charge for folks that now some of them are getting medication free of charge through the grant and it makes a huge difference to the whole community,” Vest said.
