Usapang Mental Health: it’s OK to ask for help
If you’ve been having feelings of anxiety, depression, or have had dark thoughts, it is okay to ask for help. You are NOT ALONE. Help and support is available! In this episode, Bianca Gonzalez sits down with Dr. Jasmine Vergara, psychiatrist and Technical Officer at the World Health Organization, to talk about signs you should watch out for, and the tools and resources available to help you. There is no shame in seeking help—we’ve done it too!

Nakakalungkot lang na other people are laughing about mental health, kesyo kuno dati wala naman daw bakit ngayon meron na… I hope they take this seriously with deepest understanding kasi hindi biro ang depression or the mental health condition na nararanasan ng iba. Dumating sa point that after my depression nagpa-tattoo ako sa braso to remind me that I should avoid depression as much as I could and seek help to others.
Maraming Salamat Bianca and Dr. Jasmine for this topic!
❤️❤️❤️
First step talaga is acceptance and awareness na kelangan natin ng help. I have witnessed breakdowns and total mental shutdown (one of our relatives) mahirap para sa nakapaligid kasi yung nakakaexperience is wala na awareness. Magastos po sya kasi hindi na sya mawawala sa system, namamanage lang sya na hindi sumpungin. Kaya alagaan natin ang health natin kasi pag yung isip na ang bumigay, wala na din pati katawan natin hindi na kakayanin.
This episode is helpful for anyone still in denial or having doubts about getting help for Mental Health conditions, especially after the pandemic, which it negatively affected our mental health with so many unknowns even up to this day.
Thank you for this 😢
Thanks Bianca & Dr. Jasmine ❤ very informative & enlightening 🙏
I love the topic. Sobrang nakakarelate ako. Pero sana medyo ilapit nyo sa microphone yung mouth while talking. Mahina ang sounds naka full volume na ako . Naka Bluetooth listening while doing household chores. Thanks and more power to you Bianca!
Magandang umaga Ms.Bianca and Dr.Jasmine salamat po sa pagssharw nito sa amin..😚🤩🥰🫡❤️🩷🧡💛💚💙🩵💜🤎🖤🩶🤍💯💫
It's really True—We are social human beings–people around us will be our companions in our journey in this world.
Sayang nga yung Party list na Tamang Isip Ni Doc Rainier Umali. Yun ang in demand na Party list
Very stupid, shxt eater not psychiatric.
Thanks for sharing this.. very timely to me..🥹☺️
I don't want to be the bad guy here, and yes, I agree it's okay to ask for help and approach any mental health professional, even if you don't think you have a problem. But there are logistics to be considered here. It's not just about knowing the psychology and raising awareness. Those are important, but the hurdle is, kanino ka pupunta? Isn't there a scarcity of mental health professionals? And most importantly, MAGKANO? Because it's not free, and our healthcare system is poor for physical health, let alone for mental health. Baby steps, I know, but it just hurts that it's easy to say 'it's okay and approach,' but there isn't enough mental health personnel and many can't afford it.
You are A Precious Creation!
Rest in Peace to Emanuelle Atienza,if only she was monitored properly…😢
I really like this discussion. Doc Jasmine was really kind and emphatetic with how she shared her expertise 😊

What about the bipolar at alter mental status? Sana ma topic nyo din minsan.
I am an ofw and keep searching and seeking help. Kasi nararamdaman ko na I am not ok, and I need help pero ang hirap po maghanap ng someone who can help you especially ang tungkol sa aking mental health. Any suggestions, and advise po?
Swerte lang ung mga well to do kc can afford sila to seek professional help…kawawa nman ung mga can't afford kc consultation alone is very expensive…so anong scenario ang makikita nyo…prayer na lang talaga ang kalasag nating mahihirap sa mga pinagdadaanan natin
Sana lakasan Ang audio
I think I had depression pero di ako aware. Same tayo doc naiiyak tas parang nag papaalam. Pero pinalaki kase ako na di binebaby ung lungkot kaya super dasal. Nagiging okay naman ako.
In a world where mental health is becoming part of everyday conversations, one thing must remain clear: do not self-diagnose. There is a thin line between emotional instability during stressful moments and falling into a depressive state, and understanding that difference matters.
Feeling emotionally overwhelmed doesn’t automatically mean you are depressed. If you can still think clearly, do daily tasks, and find relief in rest or relaxation, then you may simply be mentally exhausted. Sometimes, all a tired mind needs is time, sleep, and peace.
However, depression is another reality entirely. It isn’t always dramatic or obvious. Many people don’t even realize they’re depressed — they just slowly stop functioning. They stop feeling relief from things that used to comfort them. They lose motivation, direction, and their sense of self. Even sleep, rest, or hobbies don’t bring peace.
Signs may include:
Lack of direction
Short-term memory issues
Confusion and mental fog
Loss of appetite
Fear of going outside
Fatigue that feels impossible to overcome
Losing interest in activities once enjoyed
Withdrawal from people and social situations
Rewatching the same shows for comfort and familiarity
Isolation
Feelings of hopelessness
Suicidal thoughts or self-harm tendencies
Inability to feel comfort in familiar ways
When symptoms like these continue for more than two weeks, it may be time to seek guidance from a professional. Mental health deserves the same seriousness as physical health. No one should walk through that darkness alone.
Still, remember this: if today all you managed to do was breathe and stay alive — that alone is worth celebrating. Survival is strength. Healing isn’t linear; energy comes and goes. You don’t need to have it all figured out today.
You also don’t need to listen to anyone who calls you weak or faithless. Some people use religion to shame instead of uplift. But God does not condemn you for hurting. Struggle does not make you broken — it simply makes you human.
You deserve compassion, understanding, and help. Support can come from family, friends, strangers, journals, or even an AI — what matters is that you don’t carry everything alone.
You matter. Your feelings matter. Your healing matters.
And you are not alone.

Hi, Ms. Bianca, this video encouraged me to seek psych help. Was diagnosed with PTSD, Dipolar Disorder 2, and Depression last week, and is now taking medications. Thank you
Thank you @iamsuperbianca for this informative interview. I have so many takeaways, from being self-aware on the things that we control to different techniques on managing stress, this interview ignited my passion for promoting mental health and well-being. Hope that more and more people would be aware that help is accessible and possible here in our country.
