Boca Raton, FL — April 24, 2026 — This May, Palm Beach County invites the community to turn the tide on mental health stigma by participating in the annual “Get Your Green On” (GYGO) campaign. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, this year’s theme, “Rooted in Resiliency,” explores the profound connection between emotional well-being and the natural world.

What began in 2016 as a student-led spark in Delray Beach has blossomed into a powerful countywide movement. Today, GYGO serves as a welcoming, open invitation for families and organizations to champion trauma-informed care and visible advocacy.

2026 Theme: Rooted in Resilience

The 2026 campaign draws inspiration from the environment, reminding us that healing mirrors the cycles of nature. Just as deep roots sustain life during a storm, emotional resilience is built through community connection and “unseen” support systems.

A Movement Beyond the Month

While May provides a surge of visibility, the mission is sustained year-round through #GYGO365. This initiative reinforces that mental wellness is a daily practice, not just a response to crisis. Through storytelling and strategic partnerships, GYGO empowers residents to:

Share lived experiences to dismantle stigma.
Access and offer support within their own neighborhoods.
Engage in healing-centered practices that prioritize longevity.

Why It Matters

Mental health is the bedrock of a thriving community. By moving these conversations into the light – in our parks, offices, and schools, Get Your Green On shifts the culture from silent struggle to collective healing.

GYGO is a community-driven campaign dedicated to raising awareness by creating visible support and fostering safe spaces to talk openly about mental health and trauma.
