A lockdown at the schools of East Dalton District 13 ended early this afternoon after a police activity in the neighborhood. East Alton Police Chief Scott Golike describes it as a mental health issue with the subject.
The police department notified the district when the scene was secured, and the school then began dismissal of all students. Operations have now returned to normal.
