David Wilcock, known for his appearances on the History Channel’s “Ancient Aliens” and other extraterrestrial content creation, has died at age 53.
Wilcock was involved in an incident with a police response in Boulder County, Colo. on Monday, when emergency services dispatched officers over speculation that an individual was having a “mental health crisis.”
“Deputies arrived at approximately 11:02 a.m. and made contact with a male outside a residence who was holding a weapon. Within minutes of deputies’ arrival, he used the weapon on himself. He was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Boulder County authorities stated in a report.
The deceased was later identified as Wilcock, a regular contributor on “Ancient Aliens” as well as a popular personality on YouTube, where he amassed 520,000 subscribers.
In a statement released to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Wilcock’s family said, “David Wilcock took his own life on April 20, 2026, after a long struggle with depression and overwhelming financial debt. His family, and chosen family, hope this loss encourages more focused attention to mental health care access.”
Outside of “Ancient Aliens,” Wilcock created work related to conspiracy theories about world governments, including the United States, and was involved in projects like “The Cosmic Secret,” “Wisdom Teachings,” and “Cosmic Disclosure.”
Wilcock was also an author of books, including “ The Synchronicity Key: The Hidden Intelligence Guiding the Universe and You” and “The Source Field Investigations: The Hidden Science and Lost Civilizations Behind the 2012 Prophecies,” both of which were New York Times bestsellers.
