MIAMI — As South Florida prepares for the 2026 World Cup, the host committee is helping get local kids involved.
Sunday at Haulover Park, the Miami Host Committee put on the One Game One Future youth soccer clinic.
Participants enjoyed a coach’s workshop that included all kinds of soccer drills.
Grassroots Soccer was part of the event. The health organization uses soccer to help yougsters learn more about life-saving information and how to live a healthier life.
The organization says today their focus was mental health and, of course, soccer.
“We are so excited to be involved with FIFA and the Miami Host Committee to run some mental health soccer programs here called Mind Skills,” said Grassroots Soccer co-founder Ethan Zohn. “We’re using metaphors from the sport of soccer to deliver some really important health information to protect these kids and make them aware about mental health and the dangers and issues around mental health.
