A Norwalk couple who lost their son to suicide has found a meaningful way to keep his memory alive.

Lauren and Brian Bernstein lost their son Jason in 2019. Jason, or Jasey, as they called him when he was younger, was a very talented and creative boy.

A couple of years ago, the Bernsteins started Jasey’s Toy Chest to honor his memory. The company showcases wooden preschool toys that can help young children learn those early important skills and have fun while they’re playing. In the process, the sales of these toys are supporting children’s mental health through The Kids Mental Health Foundation.

“What we’re trying to do here is be able to bring resources to parents—free resources so that they can have some help if they’re having struggles and challenges,” said Lauren Bernstein.

Jasey’s Toy Chest can now be found in many local toy stores and several online merchants across the globe.
