The new Adult Peer Support and Community Integration Center is projected to open in December of 2025.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – River Edge Behavioral Health broke ground on a new facility on Wednesday.
According to Dr. Steven Corkery, River Edge Board Chair, the Adult Peer Support and Community Integration Center, located in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood, will offer support groups, catering to a wide range of needs including dealing with traumatic events, substance abuse and psychiatric disorders.
Another goal for the center is helping those with developmental disabilities become more independent.
$14 million in funding is coming from the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Development Disabilities and River Edge.
The facility is projected to open in December of 2025.
