READING, Pa. –The Reading School District is teaching students to prioritize their mental health.
The district held its Fourth Annual Countywide Mental Health Conference at the DoubleTree on Monday
Students in grades seven to 12 could share their experiences. It’s a way to teach kids about mental health and give them tools and resources to cope.
“The students are the center and the core of what we do, and we acknowledge that meeting their mental health needs as well as their educational needs is top priority in order for them to be the best versions of themselves,” said Megan Tejada, RSD counselor.
The event included activities like arts and crafts, and journaling — all centered around mental health.
