“With Sage, Willow, and now Juniper, we can offer specialized, developmentally appropriate intensive care to youth ages 8 through 17—each program tailored to the specific challenges young people face. Introducing Juniper: Mood & Anxiety
Ages 14–17  •  Opening June 2026

Juniper addresses a critical gap for older adolescents experiencing mood and anxiety symptoms that interfere with daily functioning—including difficulty attending school, maintaining relationships, and managing everyday responsibilities. The program provides an environment where teens can stabilize symptoms, build coping and regulation skills, and grow in confidence.

Treatment integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Services include individual therapy, family therapy, skill-based group therapy, experiential therapy on our challenge course and psychiatry services (PHP), and an optional substance use recovery component.

Ryther’s Existing Intensive Programs

Willow: Anxiety & OCD • Ages 8–14

Willow provides neurodiversity-affirming specialized intensive treatment. Willow serves neurodivergent and neurotypical youth with anxiety and OCD. The program incorporates Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)—the gold-standard treatment for OCD—and delivers evidence-based therapies through experiential formats including group games, mindful movement, art, and tabletop gaming.

Sage: Mood & Resiliency • Ages 8–14

Sage serves clients who are experiencing mood disorders such as depression and trauma-related emotional stress. Grounded in DBT, the program takes a whole-person approach, helping youth develop coping skills across emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

All three programs accept most major commercial insurance plans and all Medicaid managed care plans in Washington State. Families and referring providers can contact Ryther’s intake team at 206.517.0234 or visit https://www.ryther.org/
