Founders share their mission to support families in disability and mental health communities, offering resources to navigate complex systems.

MINNESOTA, USA —  ‘With You Advocates’ brings vital mental health resources and support to the Twin Cities.

The non-profit aims to connect families in disability and mental health communities with resources that would allow them to navigate complex systems.

The founders, Tone Waters and Ana Garcia, stopped by KARE 11 on Sunday to share more about the organization and its mission.

Waters said the inspiration behind the non-profit came from her and Garcia’s own experiences.

“As we navigated disability and mental health resources for our Autistic children, we wondered what it would be like to have an organization that walks alongside people in the disability and mental health communities so they don’t have to navigate these complex educational, county, and community systems alone,” Waters told KARE 11.

The organization offers a range of resources to families navigating difficult systems. Waters and Garcia say they provide support by attending IEP meetings, neuropsychological evaluations, and county assessments alongside parents, assisting with paperwork and leading parent support groups.

“We are kind of interpreters in disability and mental health communities for folks,” said Garcia.
