MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison celebrated the opening of the state’s newest Family Room on Friday.

The Family Room at Rogers Behavioral Health East Madison Clinic, located at 5117 W. Terrace Drive, will provide services to families and caregivers whose children are receiving mental health treatment.

The comforting space gives parents a place to work remotely and includes a fully stocked kitchen, taking the stress out of stepping away to grab a meal.

Ronald McDonald House CEO Stephanie Hayden said they are able to serve more families in need because of the added facility, making sure families can stay close to their loved one.

“When you’re going through a difficult time it’s nice to be able to have a place where you can be close, yet be comfortable,” Hayden said.

Stephanie Payne, clinical supervisor at Rogers Behavioral Health, said the Family Room can help families ease the transition into treatment by offering practical resources.

“Any first day of mental health treatment is a little bit scary and having your loved one just across the hall and then even able to support is just valuable,” Payne said.
