COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – The trauma-focused outpatient program at Three Rivers Behavioral Health is designed for military members, veterans, and first responders, meeting a strong need in Columbia’s community.
The program is held in a group setting to reduce stigma and isolation while normalizing mental health conversations. Counselor Maria, a 23-year military veteran, says sessions include daily check-ins, discussing trauma and functioning, emotion regulation, and cognitive distortions, with a focus on helping clients function outside of treatment.
