AUDUBON –  Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics announces the opening of the new ACMH Behavioral Health Clinic (ABHC). Callen Weispfennig, CEO of ACMH remarked, “We are excited to welcome Shelli Brown, PMHNP, to ACMH. Her addition allows us to expand our services to include behavioral health, an area of significant need in our communities. Across the country, behavioral health services remain one of the most pressing unmet needs, and rural Iowa is no exception.”

Joining the ACMH team is Shelli Brown, ARNP, PMHNP, BC, a board-certified mental health nurse practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals across the lifespan.

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Shelli specializes in assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, Bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia as well as complex psychiatric conditions. Shelli has over four years of experience and treats ages 8 and up.

Shelli mentioned that “Mental wellness is the focus of care in a safe, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard and supported.”

Shelli joins ACMH from Zion Integrated Behavioral Health Services in Atlantic, Iowa. Her clinic will operate in a hybrid model, offering both virtual and in-person visits.

In June, all in-person visits will be hosted at the Exira Clinic. In addition to clinic visits, Shelli hopes to participate in community outreach activities, including work with schools and group homes.

Weispfennig adds, “We are excited to grow ACMH by adding this new service and expanding the ways we serve our communities.”
