Two women-owned organizations in Washington are expanding mental health training in schools after receiving a $50,000 grant.

Generation Wellness and the Well Mind Project are bringing trauma-informed, brain-based training to schools through funding from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust. The grant supports nonprofit capacity building in education and mental health across the Pacific Northwest.

In January 2026, Generation Wellness, in partnership with the Well Mind Project, trained educators and school leaders from 45 schools. The cohort is continuing throughout the year with virtual coaching and access to an online resource library designed to support implementation.

The program is designed to leave school leaders with practical tools and clear strategies they can use to train their teams. Using neuroscience-informed approaches, the training is intended to support student engagement, reduce behavior referrals and strengthen school climate.

The Well Mind Project, a women-led nonprofit, secured the funding to make the program accessible to schools at no cost.

Generation Wellness is a women-owned, Washington-based organization specializing in trauma-informed, brain-based training and resources. The organization says its work has supported more than 500,000 educators, students and families, focusing on practical strategies to improve engagement, connection and well-being in schools.
