The NAACP Jacksonville Branch Health Committee, in partnership with The Bethel Church Men’s Ministry, will host a powerful community event titled “The Healthier Brother: Beyond I’m Good” Men’s Mental Health Forum on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at The Bethel Church, 215 Bethel Baptist Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32202.

This impactful forum is designed specifically to address the mental health and wellness needs of African American men by creating a safe, informative, and empowering environment for honest dialogue, education, and access to resources. The event will feature keynote speakers, licensed clinicians, therapists, and mental health professionals discussing topics including:
*Mental health awareness
*Stress management
*Trauma and emotional wellness
*Breaking stigma surrounding therapy and treatment
*Healthy coping strategies and healing pathways

Mental health continues to be a growing concern within communities across the nation, particularly among African American men who often face cultural, economic, and social barriers to seeking support. Organizers say this forum aims to normalize conversations around mental wellness while connecting attendees with valuable services and resources that can positively impact individuals, families, and the
broader community.

“This forum is about creating a space where men can move beyond simply saying ‘I’m good’ and begin having real conversations about healing, emotional wellness, and support,” said Jerry L. McMillan, Health Committee Chair for the NAACP Jacksonville Branch. “We want our community to know that mental health matters, healing matters, and our men matter.”

Organizers are currently seeking community partners, sponsors, healthcare organizations, and faith-based institutions to support the initiative through sponsorships, exhibit participation, and promotional outreach.
