Insurance mandates have made treatment for substance use disorders more accessible to patients, whose numbers are increasing amid the opioid and fentanyl crises. Alcohol dependency is also a contributing factor, as are shifts in care to outpatient settings, increases in awareness programs, and expansions in telehealth and digital treatment.
As demand outweighs supply, many of these treatment facilities and programs are seeking private equity investors who can provide capital and experience for service expansions.
