Whether you like it or not, everyone struggles with their mental health sometimes. And when you falter, you need someone there by your side to help pick you up.

And for Ella Langley, she found a pretty good person to help her out on that front. And it all makes sense that she might be feeling that way. In her words, she’s “winging it” – she feels like she’s free-falling.

And, according to Whiskey Riff, she said that the 2025 ACM awards were a pretty dark time for her. I don’t blame her, to be honest – that was a lot of weight on her shoulders.

“I won’t lie, this last week has been probably one of the toughest mental health weeks I’ve had in a long, long time,” she explained at the time. “Which is crazy, because so many good things are happening, so many things I’ve prayed for and dreamed about. It’s just a struggle, it’s a disease in my family, really.”

But Ella Langley Found a “Confidant” In a Country Star

But of course, just like any of us, things are a lot better when a friend’s there. And that’s exactly what Ella Langley found in ERNEST.

During a show on Tuesday, June 2, Langley and ERNEST took the stage by storm. They were introducing a track they wrote together, “Loving Life Again”. A pretty apt name for a song considering their friendship. And the lyrics are even more so:

“Seasons come like seasons go, I guess / Ain’t it just like me, making all this mess / Of my head again? / I got memories I like to think of / When this big old world gets a bit too much”

And Ella Langley explained just how good ERNEST was for her during her mental health struggles. “I don’t know,” she explained. “He just became a confidant for me – somebody who said all the things I needed to say to get it all off my chest. Last year, I hit a weird spot in my life; I tend to fall upon those, as we know.”

She added that the song helping people had really surprised them both, but she was pleased about it. “To see what this song is doing blows my mind. Even if this song never did anything, to get to sing this song every single night, it fixes me as a person.”
