A public event on Tuesday, Nov. 12 will showcase the many behavioral health resources available in Kenosha County.
The Kenosha County Substance Abuse Coalition Resource Fair will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Room N3 at the Kenosha County Job Center, 8600 Sheridan Road.
This event comes as overdose deaths have begun to decrease nationally and locally — including an estimated 33 percent decrease in Kenosha County over the first nine months of 2024, compared with a year ago, event organizers noted.
“At the resource fair, you can meet the people behind the recent substance use and overdose prevention initiatives and successes in Kenosha County,” said County Executive Samantha Kerkman. “This will be an opportunity to learn about what’s available from the county and a variety of partner agencies, all under one roof.”
Training and free supplies of Narcan and fentanyl test strips, personal first aid kits and medication lock boxes will be among the many resources offered at the event.
The Kenosha County Substance Abuse Coalition is organizing the resource fair in partnership with the Kenosha County Division of Behavioral Health Services and numerous other agencies and organizations.
“Resources are available, and recovery is possible,” said Kenosha County Behavioral Health Services Director Kari Foss. “We encourage everyone in the community to join us and learn what resources are available, and how you can make a difference in saving lives.”
