Two Scranton siblings face felony charges after the sale of crack cocaine to a confidential informant, police said.
Jamie Miller, 40, and Zachary Miller, 39, both of 433 Tenth Ave., are charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
During June, members of the Lackawanna County Detective Drug Unit met with an informant regarding the person’s involvement with Jamie Miller, according to a criminal complaint.
The informant indicated they could purchase drugs from Miller and ordered a quantity of crack cocaine on a phone line recorded and monitored by investigators.
During the recorded conversation, Jamie Miller directed the informant to her residence to complete the drug transaction.
The informant was given money to buy the drugs and outfitted with a recording device so investigators could record the conversation during the buy.
Investigators kept the informant under surveillance as they traveled to Miller’s residence.
The informant entered the residence, left a short time later and turned over to investigators an amount of crack cocaine consistent with the funds provided.
The informant said the transaction had been completed with Zachary Miller.
On Wednesday, investigators executed a search warrant on the residence and took Jamie and Zachary Miller into custody.
Jamie Miller told the investigators it was a “bad time” to serve the warrant because she didn’t have much product left in the residence.
She admitted to selling cocaine to support her drug habits.
Investigators found several items of drug paraphernalia, 0.5 grams of crack cocaine and $399 in cash at the residence.
Jamie Miller is also charged with criminal use of a cellphone and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jamie and Zachary Miller have preliminary hearings scheduled for 9 a.m. on July 2 before District Judge Sean Gallagher.
