The Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health (Las Vegas) has started construction on a new forensic psychiatric hospital in Las Vegas, according to fox5vegas.com.

The $399 million Southern Nevada Forensic Facility project comprises a 4-story, 327,000-square-foot hospital that will provide court-mandated competency restoration services.

Plans call for 298 beds, with the design accommodating a future fourth tower that could add 90 to 120 beds.

Construction is expected to be completed in 2029.
