The City of Cape Coral’s Human Resources Department earned the Gold Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health by Mental Health America (MHA). This is the third year in a row Cape Coral has received this national certification, recognizing employers committed to creating mentally healthy workplaces for their employees.
The Bell Seal is the first of its kind in the United States, with gold being one of four levels, along with bronze, silver, and platinum.
The certification evaluates organizations on their internal policies and practices affecting workers’ well-being, including culture, benefits, and wellness programs.
MHA’s Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health was introduced in 2019 to acknowledge employers who understand the importance of addressing mental health at work. In 2024, only 40 percent of the 949 employers that completed the pre-survey qualified for certification. The City of Cape Coral is proud to be recognized at the gold level for its commitment to supporting a mentally healthy workforce.
