Crises, Loss, and Grief – Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Principles | @LevelUpRN
This video covers the types of crises (maturational, situational, adventitious) and nursing care of patients during a crisis. The difference between an actual loss vs. a perceived loss. The stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance) and types of grief (complicated, anticipatory, and disenfranchised grief). Includes a video quiz!
Our Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing video tutorial series is taught by Cathy Parkes BSN, RN, CWCN, PHN and intended to help RN and PN nursing students study for their nursing school exams, including the ATI, HESI and NCLEX.

Elephant
Complicated grief is now considered after 1 year? Previously from your last set of cards it states 6 months….just want to make sure I get it right for Psychiatric Adult Mental Health because these videos are gold!
Thanks 🙏
stages of grief DABDA
D-denial
A-anger
B-bargaining
D-depression
A-acceptance
Potentially an acknowledgment that the stages of grief are not linear could be an important edit or addition to this content. 🙏
Thank you Thank you
Thank you for this. Great help
👏
Can you do more quiz in your video please because currently in nursing school taking fundamental nursing and the professor I have go all over place but when I
Found your Video I understand whole lots information so i praying do good on my final next Wednesday
The stages do not always come in that order ! I think it’s important to state.
!
The lecture is amazing
Could you please clarify! We are being taught in my nursing program that Crisis of anticipated life transition is related to normal life-cycle transitions (ie: getting married, having a baby), and Maturational/Developmental crisis occurs in response to a situation that triggers emotions related to unresolved conflicts in one's life. I'm confused! This is opposite that what was stated in your lecture. Did I misunderstand something?
Thankyou for doing this video
Thank you ♥
❤
Retirement!!…I make a foolish mistake. The Stress!! Anxiety,.. insomnia. The regret /blame.. caused depression. Complicated Grief? I lost interest in life, all activities. I keep thinking of my job,… it really was my life.
Grief: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance
Great refreshing video
