  1. If what Dr. Gardner is saying is true, it is highly unlikely that this notion will be widely embraced by psychologists, psychiatrists and counselors, except for the ones who very principled. Such an admission that metabolic function is the root cause of our mental maladies would put many of them out of business.

  2. I love Gabor Mate. But I also believe stress effects our metabolism. So I believe both these men are correct. The tipping point, or having a specific genetic weakness, creates mental issues. Some people get disease in their knees, etc. Some others get metabolic dysfunction effecting their minds. This is not contradictory.
