  1. They shoudlnt be allowec to take your stuff. Thats YOUR stuff , it belongs to you not the "doctor" thats there to "help" you(by help i mean keep you alive until you act like you are ok) i personally have never been but i know people who have and they all say it madectheir mental health worse

  2. I went to Holly Hill Raleigh North Carolina, which just got released today. It was hell, yeah, I was exactly like this. But since I was under age, I barely got to do anything. They didn't give me new pills or medication. I still felt the same after I got out. And they threatened to call my mom with CPS just because she was exercising her rights to take me out legally, those hospitals will literally use little kids. To regenerate revenue absolutely disgusting

  3. Just a question since I never went to a psych ward but if you have an irrational or just a fear of taking pills that you can’t swallow can you ask them of you can take chewable pills?

  4. I know this is multiple years late but my mom told me if I feel I need to go to a hospital then I can, but I know nothing about it. I’m still watching the vid so sry if I ask a question that was mentioned already.
    1. Do they do checkups and physicals or anything like that?
    2. What is the daily routine like? Do you have to do school and stuff like that.
    3. How often are you free? Like are you always on a schedule or is there free time?
    4. Are you allowed to have a device like a Nintendo switch or iPad
    5. How many people can be in one room?
    6. Does it depend on what hospital you go to that lets you go to church?
    7. Are you allowed to go out at all? Like if you want to go somewhere with your family are you allowed?
    8. Do you take your own clothes and things?
    9. Are you allowed to bring art stuff and journals?
    10. Do they help if you have a very specific disorder or something? I have misophonia and I can’t be in places with lots of people all the time bc of the noises.
    11. Who gets to choose when you get to leave?
I’ll update if I have anymore questions, but thank you to anyone who can answer. ❤❤

  5. I’m sorry I feel they should be illegal or no longer exist. We need to find a better way too help people with mental health issues. I honestly feel that there is such a stigma with mental health that even professionals feel they need to treat people badly. I understand that mental health is very complex and it really varies from person to person. And that it can cause people to be irrational. However I don’t believe it’s an excuse to abuse someone and treat them badly. Mental health like physical health you need to find the root cause of their behaviors and try to help them find coping skills to manage their mental state. Locking them up putting them on medications and just simply treating them like they’re evil people isn’t going to help or change them. This is why people don’t get help with mental issues because they don’t want to go to places like this or being treated badly.

  6. I’ve been to it before and there are nothing like what he’s describing other than making us wear these scrubs and throwing a bunch of pills at us they verbally abuse us for one for two. You’re lucky if you get a nice nurse I’m currently writing this well in a psych ward I was lucky enough the second time to get a nice nurse and this one is letting me use my phone surprisingly Just so you know ask a victim not a doctor at these wards the shit that happens is so untrue. It’s bullshit.

  7. Psychiatric hospitals have only ever made me sicker! They have terrible prescription regimes, too high doses of outdated shotgun medicine levels of drugs. Terrible follow up with no outpatient plans. There is a reason why the highest risk people are those just discharged. This was supposed to be the last chance to get better, but they made everything worse.

  8. "the most important thing is that you're safe" No, the most important thing is that the psych ward makes money.

  9. The strip search is unnecessary and traumatizing. After being assaulted, you want me to get butt ass naked and stand there while you stare at my scars? The most vulnerable I’ve even fucking felt. Never going back.

  10. You truly cannot prepare for something as horrible and traumatizing as this. Nobody could ever prepare for being held against their will and mistreated. That’s like saying, “Tips on preparing to get robbed” Or, “Tips on preparing for economic collapse”
