  1. This video doesn’t really explain what Clubhouse does, so I’ll explain, it’s a MH recovery charity started with FH in NY was created by ex patients for anyone that has experienced MH in a non clinical setting, it has 3 units: Business and Admin, Education and Employment, Café and Garden (well for the one I attend)

It’s structured around a work ordered day (9-5) members not clients volunteer to do the work they choose to do throughout the day, membership is free and for how ever long you need example: join and attend overtime you gain more confidence and skills as well as recovering from your MH say a year later you recover to the point where you got a job everything is good don’t feel the need to attend Clubhouse anymore but then a few years later something happens and you have a relapse then you can just go back to Clubhouse.

It’s also come and go as you like, like you don’t need to be there everyday 9-5 it’s all down to the individual how much they want to do and there’s members of all ages, backgrounds with different diagnosis’s and due to that everyone gets along like a big family because everyone has that shared experience with MH that many just don’t understand until they’ve experienced it.

There’s various Clubhouses in the US the ones I’m aware of is obviously FH NYC but there’s also Clubhouses in St Louis Missouri and Cleveland Ohio meet some good people from those ones ah also Texas but not sure where in the state. Clubhouse is also international many in Scandinavia and Europe, also Canada and Asia the one I attend is in London UK which we do training for other clubhouses to get accreted as all clubhouses have to adhere to I believe it’s 47 standards

Hopefully that explains a bit more
