Williamsburg — Olde Towne Medical and Dental Center announces a new partnership with Care Alliance Collective to provide comprehensive behavioral health care coordination, referral management, and support services for patients in the Greater Williamsburg area. Both organizations are excited to collaborate in addressing a critical and growing need for accessible mental health care in the region.

OTMDC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring healthcare access for uninsured and underinsured residents, will work alongside CAC to strengthen connections between patients and vital behavioral health resources. They say this partnership reflects a shared commitment to improving whole-person care and advancing health equity in the community.

“The partnership is designed to improve access to behavioral health services for OTMDC patients,” said Aaron Thompson, CEO & Executive Director of OTMDC. “We are proud to partner with Care Alliance Collective to better facilitate the connection between our patients and the mental and emotional services they need.”

Across Virginia and the Greater Williamsburg region, the demand for mental health services continues to outpace available resources. According to the Virginia Department of Health, nearly 1 in 5 adults in Virginia reports experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression, while the Health Resources and Services Administration has designated many areas of the Commonwealth—including parts of the Greater Williamsburg region—as Mental Health Professional Shortage Areas. Additionally, the National Alliance on Mental Illness reports that more than 50% of adults with a mental health condition in the U.S. do not receive treatment, often due to cost, access, or stigma.

Through this partnership, CAC will enhance access and continuity of care by providing behavioral health screenings, coordinating referrals with a network of vetted providers, assisting with transportation when needed, and maintaining follow-up communication to ensure patients remain connected to care.

“We are excited and proud to partner with Olde Towne Medical and Dental Center to expand access to behavioral health services,” said Kiara Robinson, CEO of Care Alliance Collective. “Together, we are building a more coordinated, patient-centered approach that helps individuals navigate the often-complex behavioral health system.”

By combining OTMDC’s 33-year role as a trusted healthcare provider with CAC’s expertise in care coordination, the partnership aims to reduce barriers, improve outcomes, and ensure that more individuals in the Greater Williamsburg area receive the behavioral health support they need. As a safety-net organization Olde Towne Medical and Dental Center is funded by the City of Williamsburg, James City County, York County, the Williamsburg Health Foundation, grantors, corporate donors, and hundreds of community donors.
