CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A Cedar Rapids event Saturday brought the community together for a cause bigger than gaming.
The 5th annual Roll On For Life was held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, raising awareness and support for suicide prevention efforts through Alive & Running Iowa.
The event welcomed people of all ages and experience levels, featuring tabletop role-playing games, strategy board games, and card games.
A dessert auction and raffle were also part of the fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting suicide prevention initiatives across the state.
“Roll on Life,” founded by Tim Woodward, aims to create a welcoming space where people can connect, reduce stigma, and support one another.
Woodward says the event is about camaraderie and reminding people they are not facing their struggles by themselves.
Community members, families, and gamers were invited to take part, whether they were longtime players or brand new to tabletop gaming.
