(ABC 6 News) – Family & Children’s Center announced it has bought a new Caledonia building to expand mental health and family services in Houston County.

The organization said the new facility is at 701 North Sprague Street and is expected to open in the summer. Until the end of 2025, the building was a Mayo Clinic Health System facility.

“This expansion is an important step into making mental health care resources more accessible in our area,” said FCC President/CEO Tita Yutuc, LCSW. “As resources are strained for rural communities, removing barriers to access like distance will be a benefit for clients.”

When the site opens, Family & Children’s Center said it plans to offer Outpatient Therapy, Safe Visitation and Day Treatment. The center said the new location will allow expanded services in Houston County.

“We have a longstanding history of collaborating with Family & Children’s Center on shared commitments to strengthen community well-being. We are excited for their new location in Caledonia, as it will further expand their reach and impact across the region,” said Richard Helmers, M.D., vice president, Mayo Clinic Health System Wisconsin.

Family & Children’s Center said the purchase marks an expansion of its local footprint and service access in the county.
