COLUMBIA — Better Together Mental Health held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, following its move to a new location.

The three-year-old therapy practice changed locations back in late March due to an increase in staffing and a growing client base.

The current location off of Nifong Boulevard provides room for more offices and a safer space for clients.

“We see a lot of people who are wanting to maintain a higher level of privacy,” owner Beth Orns said. “Having this space allows us to very comfortably do that for people so that everyone, regardless of what they do or what they could believe to be a stigma, can access care.”

The ceremony also represented a celebration a high achievement for the practice. The practice was recently named one of five finalists nominated for Columbia Small Business of the Year, an award presented by the Columbia Chamber of Commerce.

“I didn’t believe it was true,” Orns said. “I got this email. It said ‘Congratulations’ and something about finalist for small business of the year.”

Better Together Mental Health will learn Thursday if it has received the award.
