The Minnesota Wild will host a monetary drive during Home Playoff Games 3 and 4 of the Second Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs at Grand Casino Arena in support of Sophie’s Squad. As the nation recognizes Mental Health Awareness Month, the Wild are proud to spotlight this meaningful partnership and help advance mental health advocacy for youth and athletes across Minnesota.
Game Dates:
Saturday, May 9 – 8:00 PMMonday, May 11 – Game time TBD
Sophie’s Squad is dedicated to improving the mental health of athletes by promoting open conversations, reducing stigma, and emphasizing that seeking help is a sign of strength. Their mission supports athletes on and off the ice, court, field, track, or gym — reminding everyone that it’s okay to not be okay.
During Games 3 and 4, Sophie’s Squad will encourage fans to contribute $1 per attendee. Reaching this goal would allow the organization to place critical mental‑health resources directly into the hands of 7,200 youth athletes across Minnesota.
“The Minnesota Wild are committed to supporting the well‑being of our community,” said Wayne Petersen, Senior Director, Community Relations & Hockey Partnerships. “Partnering with Sophie’s Squad during Mental Health Awareness Month allows us to amplify a message that matters: no athlete should struggle in silence.”
Fans attending the games will find donation stations at each gate prior to entering Grand Casino Arena, with 100% of proceeds benefiting Sophie’s Squad’s education, outreach, and resource programs.
