Senior Life Solutions at Clay County Medical Center is holding a Mental Health Rocks Scavenger Hunt until May 31st. Clinics in Clay Center, Clyde, Linn, Glasco and Riley are taking part.
Beth Larson, registered nurse and program director of Senior Life Solutions, said of the event, “This is actually our third year hosting the Mental Health Rocks Scavenger Hunt. While the event itself has grown over the past few years, it’s all part of Mental Health Awareness Month, which is observed every May since founded by what is now Mental Health America.
We just wanted a creative and meaningful way to raise awareness about mental health, while also spreading the messages of hope and encouragement right here in our own community.”
Participants can scour the clinics for the 120 painted rocks scattered throughout the area. The person who finds the most rocks will win a gift basket with a blanket, candle, and other items to encourage mental health.
To participate, post photos to the Senior Life Solutions socials or email them directly to Ms. Larson. Contact information can be found at the Clay County Medical Center, Senior Life Solutions site.
