Taylorville Memorial Hospital is teaming up with local community organizations to host a free “Movie in the Park” event focused on mental health awareness at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, at Manners Park in Taylorville.
The family-friendly evening will feature a screening of Disney Pixar’s Inside Out, a film that explores emotions and mental well-being in an engaging, accessible way for all ages. Games and activities will begin at 7 p.m., with the movie starting at sunset.
“This event is an opportunity for families to come together in a relaxed environment, have fun and explore conversations about mental health,” said Jay Boulanger, community health consultant for Taylorville Memorial Hospital.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for outdoor seating.
Free popcorn will be provided for all guests, and the park’s concession stand will be open for additional refreshments.
The event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
The event is co-sponsored by Taylorville Memorial Hospital, the Taylorville Park District, Memorial Behavioral Health, the Christian County Health Department and the Christian County Prevention Coalition.
