MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Mid-South children and teenagers have a new option for help when struggling with mental health.
Alliance Healthcare Services cut the ribbon on a brand new $11 million, 24/7 pediatric mental health crisis center in Binghampton on Wednesday.
It is a first-of-its-kind center for children in West Tennessee. The facility, adjacent to Alliance’s adult crisis center on Broad Avenue, is part of a growing focus on mental healthcare.
“We’re in a mental health crisis in Shelby County and all across the country,” said Laurie Powell, CEO of Alliance. “And this is the answer, our wellness campus. And last year, we opened up the adult building as a continuation of this vision, so we can see anyone who needs our help through any door.”
The center officially opens June 1.
