Exciting news is coming to the Oelwein community and Iowa’s Behavioral Health District 3.
Parent Share and Support is partnering with Iowa Primary Care Association (PCA) to provide local access to Behavioral Health System Navigation services.
Starting May 19, a system navigator will be available at Parent Share and Support, 1621 South Frederick Ave., every Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The service is designed to help individuals and families connect with mental health and behavioral health resources in their area.
Rashell Amos will be the system navigator from Iowa PCA at this location.
“I am excited and ready to help my community and surrounding communities understand and get access to mental health services,” Amos said. “I have been in the mental health/human services field for over 10 years, and actually started my career at Parent Share and Support! So I am thrilled to be back in the office with the staff and partner with them.”
System navigators can assist community members in finding services, understanding available supports, and navigating mental health systems and programs. These services are free to all Iowans.
Community members can stop in during office hours or contact the navigator directly at (515) 505-8567 for assistance.
The partnership is expected to increase access to behavioral health support and make it easier for families in Northeast Iowa to connect with needed resources close to home.
