VISALIA – Kaweah Health held a ground breaking event for the creation of a new wing for their Kaweah Health Mental Health Hospital, which will expand their care to include children.
Kaweah Health hosted a ground breaking ceremony for its Kaweah Health Mental Health Expansion for Child and Adolescent Patients on May 28, at the Kaweah Health Mental Health Hospital on 1100 S. Akers Street.
The project will add a new wing to the facility, which will broaden their services from adult care to child mental health care.
“Being able to keep children here close to home rather than having to send them away,” said Medical Director Cory Daniel Jaques in an interview. “Here at Kaweah, we have this commitment to excellence, and I think that we can do better than most of the other hospitals that we’re sending these kids to.”
