KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A community walk focused on mental health awareness brought people together Sunday morning at Bannister Park in Kansas City.

The 2nd annual “Completely Uplifted: Mind, Body & SOUL” walk, hosted by the TSOS “Do Good” Foundation, aimed to raise awareness about mental health challenges while creating a supportive space centered on healing, connection, wellness and community empowerment.

Organizers said the event also spotlighted the lived experiences of people with disabilities, caregivers and underserved communities, groups they say often face unique mental health struggles that can be overlooked.

“A community mental health walk is giving people a chance to open up and find community,” organizer Danielle Small said. “Just helping people to understand that you have a community and everybody’s dealing with something and you need support. You can’t do it alone at all.”

Organizers said small steps like getting out of the house, joining a walk or simply saying hello can be a first move toward support, and they hope events like this encourage more people to reach out for help.
