WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WSAW) – Friday will be a special night at Golden Sands Speedway where racers will honor Wausau-area teen Zach Budleski, who died in 2024 to suicide.
The Budleski-55 race features 55 laps in honor of Zach’s number and is dedicated to raising awareness for mental health.
His mother, Lisa Walhof said the race will raise funds for for suicide and mental health awareness in the community, as well as scholarships, veteran and disabled inclusion.
She and her husband have started a non-profit called ZB 55 Foundation in Zach’s honor.
Racing begins at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, June 12. Adult tickets are $15.
