Shine Through: Creating solutions for kids’ mental & behavioral health

kids in wisconsin face a mental and behavioral health crisis it’s time for something big to flip the script children’s wisconsin issued call to action they are calling it shine through bringing kids mental and behavioral health into the light and it’s part of a five-year 150 million dollar plan that children’s has committed to to address the mental and behavioral health needs of kids all across wisconsin and even in uncertain times as families braced for a school year unlike any other our community rallied around the cause to shine through and light a way forward for kids from families i’m taking the giant through pledge talk to my kids about mental health before they go back to school to schools to corporations to caregivers we need to really be focusing on the mental health of our children to the media they are calling it shine through the hashtag shine through the shine through pledge to community voices and of course kids it’s time to shine through wisconsin we’re already reaching more kids and detecting needs earlier with in-school access to mental health care we have to do better for our kids that has to be the focus of this work find it early treat it early and let’s get kids thriving and growing and doing all the things that they want to do we’re increasing the number of pediatric mental health therapists in the workforce through fellowships and training we will be able to have 25 therapists in the field over the next five years and when you think about the number of kids they can serve it’s tremendous it’s going to make an impact in terms of access to therapy together with the support of many generous benefactors we’ve started the work to make mental and behavioral health as important as physical health and created the start of something big and it doesn’t stop there see how you can shine through and help create solutions for kids mental and behavioral health with children’s wisconsin at children’s wi.org shine through
