ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) New Mexico will hold a free mental health fundraiser walk on Saturday.
Executive Director Gabrielle Dietrich told KOB 4 the NAMIWalks event will be held at the Open Space Visitor Center in Albuquerque.
People can register in advance online or sign up when they arrive.
“It is free to attend, free to register,” Dietrich said.
NAMI New Mexico’s local affiliates provide free support groups, education programs and help finding mental health resources in communities across the state.
The walk starts at the Open Space Visitor Center at 6500 Coors Northwest. Check-in begins at 10 a.m., opening ceremonies start at 10:45 a.m. and the walk begins at 11 a.m.
The route is a 0.3-mile track near the Bosque, and people can walk as much or as little as they want. She said food trucks and kids activities will also be part of the event.
