WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – Bridge Community Health Clinic cut the ribbon on its new Grand Avenue location today.

The facility and staff can help with various services, including mental health and substance abuse, play therapy, group work and couples therapy.

Staff said with Mental Health Month beginning in May, the new location is a way to fill an immediate need.

“Mental health and substance use is very needed in our communities,” said Michelle Carr, behavioral health practice manager at Bridge Community Health Clinic. “Being in a location like this, being easily accessible, just helps people feel comfortable and helps break those barriers down.”

Expanded services across locations

Bridge Clinic also offers primary care, dental services and opioid medication at its Second Street location. Since 1995, the clinic has continued to expand services to better serve everyone.

“We provide an integrated care service as well. So when people come into our building, you are not just a patient of behavioral health, you’re a patient of Bridge Clinic. So you receive the services from primary care to dental services to behavioral health, psychotherapy, whatever it is,” Carr said.

Staff said they continue to focus on community efforts and working together.

Carr said if you have questions or are not sure where to start your wellness journey, you can stop in any time without a referral.
