Health-E Commerce has announced a collaboration with Talkspace in which the companies allow individuals to purchase virtual mental health counseling.

Health-E Commerce is also the company behind FSA Store and HSA Store. They sell health care products that consumers can purchase using their pretax flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) dollars, respectively. Talkspace describes itself as a virtual behavioral health care provider. It offers therapy for individuals (including for teenagers) and couples, in addition to psychiatric treatment and medication management for adults.

The partnership would allow Health-E Commerce consumers — via FSA Store and HSA Store — to use pretax spending options to purchase virtual mental health counseling through Talkspace. The companies said first-time patients using FSA or HSA funds will receive $100 off Talkspace services.

Together, FSA Store and HSA Store rank No. 1,132 in the Top 2000 Database. The database tracks North America’s largest online retailers by their annual ecommerce sales and more.

How Health-E Commerce is offering mental health counseling

“Access to mental health services continues to be a roadblock for individuals and families,” said Keri Kaiser, chief revenue officer at Health-E Commerce, in the companies’ announcement.

She cited a data point from Healing Psychiatry of Florida estimating that 37% of the U.S. population lives in areas that have a shortage of qualified mental health providers.

“Telehealth can bridge this gap and help patients get the care they need in a timely fashion, and in the comfort and privacy of home,” Kaiser said. “Our team is proud to bring these essential services to millions of individuals and to make it easier for them to pay for care with their tax-free funds.”

The companies said health insurance covers Talkspace services. Consumers can also pay using FSA or HSA funds, they said. Still, the companies noted in the announcement that “it’s important to check” with consumers’ FSA/HSA administrator to verify what services their plan covers before engaging with a provider.

“Together, we are unlocking vital support for millions of FSA and HSA account holders, empowering them to direct their healthcare dollars toward their mental well-being,” said Katelyn Watson, chief marketing officer at Talkspace.

Talkspace said it matches patients with licensed therapists and psychiatrists for, among others:

Anxiety
Depression
Bipolar disorder
Addiction

Health-E Commerce’s venture into telehealth

The partnership with Talkspace is not Health-E Commerce’s first move into telehealth.

In June 2025, Health-E Commerce appointed Zack Peckham as CEO. That announcement came alongside a partnership with Sesame, a telehealth marketplace. The two companies expanded virtual mental health and dermatology services for consumers using FSA and HSA accounts.

The partnership integrated Sesame’s virtual care offerings into the FSA Store and HSA Store. Dermatology care started at $59 per month. Meanwhile, mental health services began at $79 per month. They included ongoing messaging and virtual sessions with licensed providers.
