PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Tyndall Air Force Base leaders are helping connect military families with mental health resources.

The Tyndall Air Force Base Integrated Resilience Office hosted its annual Tyndall Elevate Expo. Centered on the theme “Mental Health is the Backbone of Mission Readiness,” the event connects service members, families, and civilians with resources.

Dozens of on-base and local community organizations offered information and access to services available in the area.

“It’s really important that our people have the resources that they need and know about the resources that are available in the welfare community so that they can, you know, tackle the job and get the mission done for our country,” said Shannon Scott, integrated resilience office prevention coordinator.

Kesley Davis, community outreach coordinator at NWF Health Network, said attendees can scan a code to NWF Health Connects to get resources available in the area, including transportation, utility assistance, behavioral health, and substance abuse providers.

“That is our goal today, is to connect people with resources,” Davis said.

Event organizers say last year 300 people attended the event, and this year they are seeing even more attendees.
