Rep. Mike Kelly
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Shenango Valley-based U.S. Representative Mike Kelly has joined the Congressional Bipartisan Mental Health Caucus as co-chair.
In a press release, Kelly, who leads the Peer-to-Peer Mental Health Support Act and the Mental Health Research Accelerator Act, said he is pleased to join fellow co-chairs in increasing mental health support for Americans.
Kelly is quoted in the release, saying as more Americans recognize the importance of mental health issues, Congress must do so as well.
“That’s why I’m proud to join my colleagues, Reps. Don Beyer, Don Bacon, and Andrea Salinas as Mental Health Caucus co-chair. Mental health isn’t a partisan issue,” Kelly said
The Caucus was formed in May 2026 at the 119th Congress to increase awareness about mental and behavioral health.
Echoing Kelly’s sentiments, Rep. Don Bacon another of the Caucus’ four co-chairs, said he welcomes Kelly on board as the country’s mental health crisis is beyond partisan lines.
“We know our country faces a mental health crisis, and that means we must keep working together toward solutions,” said Rep. Bacon.
