The Colorado Behavioral Health Administration will hold a celebration of the Recovery Cards Project at Grand Lake’s Juniper Library on May 17 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The celebration commemorates the 250th anniversary of America and the 150th anniversary of Colorado, according to a recent press release.
The event will begin with a panel discussion celebrating the project and featuring local resources, followed by a card-signing activity.
Panelists include Shadia Lemus, the Behavioral Health Administration’s interim chief communications officer, and Katie Steinharter, a Recovery Cards Project artist and Winter Park resident. Other panelists are to be determined.
Organizers of the Recovery Cards Project are partnering with libraries this spring to share behavioral health resources and messages of encouragement during Mental Health Awareness Month, according to the release. The Recovery Cards Project developed eight new cards, all on the theme of recovery, with one dedicated to each anniversary milestone. The America 250 and Colorado 150 commemorative cards will be showcased at the event.
The Recovery Cards Project commemorative cards will be displayed at the Juniper Library through May 31.
