May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a very good time to reflect on one of the most urgent public health challenges of our time. I’m going to be speaking today with leaders who focus on youth mental health. About one in five young people in the U.S. have been diagnosed with a health or behavioral condition, a mental health, behavioral condition, and 40 percent of high school students report feelings of persistent sadness or hopelessness.
