On this week’s Memorial Day WMNF Sustainable Living Program Jon is joined by Dr. Cheryl Lowry and Dr. Brian Pinkston discussing  the Tampa Bay Psychedelic Community and their efforts helping Veterans with mental health issues. Dr.’s Lowry and Pinkston are retired Air Force Colonels, working with the Tactical Mind Research Coalition, a nonprofit organization focusing on innovative, evidence-based approaches to mental health, trauma recovery and wellness. Tactical Mind was recently selected to participate in the US Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health’s EVIDENT initiative in partnership with Diamond Therapeutics to studying psilocin and emerging behavioral health treatments for veterans and other high-risk populations.  This initiative is part of the recent presidential executive order for accelerating medical treatments in serious mental health illness.

Pat Mahoney, a member of the Tampa Bay Psychedelic Community group, also joins and co-hosts the program. All guests are working together to expand the discussion, research and access in regard to psychedelics and mental health.
