The Johns Hopkins University Student Health and Well-Being division gathered June 10 at the Bloomberg Student Center on the Homewood campus for its annual end-of-semester celebration, an opportunity to reflect, reconnect, and recognize the group’s collective achievements.

Attendees heard from Kevin Shollenberger, vice provost for student health and well-being, and Lainie Rutkow, interim provost, whose remarks were pre-recorded. Featured speaker Luke Kalb, an associate professor in the Bloomberg School’s Department of Mental Health, led an interactive presentation called The Journey Back: In Search of the Path to a Fulfilling Life, which offered reflections on well-being and purpose.

A highlight of the event was the SHWB Staff Awards ceremony, which recognized exceptional contributions in collaborative excellence, leadership, and mentorship; and—new this year—emerging leaders. This addition to the program reflects SHWB’s commitment to professional development and the cultivation of future leaders. The recipients were:

Clare Lochary, Health Promotion and Well-Being, SHWB Collaborative Excellence Award
Victoria Bishop, Mental Health Services—Behavioral Health Crisis Support Team, SHWB Excellence in Leadership Award
Alyse Campbell, Health Promotion and Well-Being, SHWB Mentorship Award
Olivia Patterson, Primary Care, SHWB Emerging Leaders Award
Jacqueline Irion, Student Disability Services, SHWB Emerging Leaders Award

Nearly 50 staff members with milestone anniversaries at Johns Hopkins were also recognized, underscoring the breadth of experience and dedication across the division.

The celebration’s wellness-focused atmosphere included a health-conscious lunch from the Hopkins Dining team.

The gathering reflects SHWB’s continued commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive workplace culture while celebrating the people who make its mission possible.
