The Real Problem Of Mental Health
Unlike a broken leg, mental health—and the lack thereof—is deeply complex. Mental states exist on a spectrum, often without clear biomarkers. Medical diagnoses frequently intertwine overlapping conditions, subjective assessments, and corporate influences. Neurodivergence reveals ethical dilemmas, diagnostic inflation, and a system largely guided by just two books. Can we do better?

my mother had, vitamin d3 deficiency, but the doctor just called it as a depression syndrome, so gave her anti depression tablets, every morning she had a headache are vomit, I then check the reason from depression from cold country in worlds, saw that people with depression has low vitamin d3 levels. gave her 2000 iu per day to fix the problem. now some people will say 2000 iu per day is too much according to the American guideline, well the American guideline is made from how is needed to cure bone fracture, but the endocrine society suggest that minimum 2000 iu needed for the whole body to function properly. meaning if you don't know nutrition stuff you are in the gutter of rich people toilet.
This video is so informative. I wish this video to become required in many educational institutions.
Presicribing pills without really knowing the potential benefits vs potential harms factor is so mental.
This video perfectly captures the relationship between doctors and big pharmaceutical companies. The experiences with Pfizer during the COVID-19 pandemic highlight everything we need to consider, as more aspects of the situation are being questioned daily. From the virus's origins to the data emerging about the impact of certain treatments, there’s growing evidence that, in some cases, the cure caused more harm than the illness itself.
Personally, I haven’t had the flu since childhood—and I’ve never taken the RSV or flu vaccines. When it comes to behavioral health, one has to wonder: “Aren’t we all, in some way, psychologists?” The DSM-5 simply codifies lessons we’ve been learning through life experience—from navigating school cliques to dealing with social structures created by people seeking prestige or profit.
In the end, the real solution is simple: Pick up a Bible and read it.
Nice summary video. It seems to me that the only way to remove the human condition from treatment is to rigorously apply the scientific method, which has been shown to reach some kind of equilibrium around whatever can be considered "the truth". Transparency and many eyes should lead us to consensus…
Either that, or we accept our AI overlords…
Hang on…with AI , quantum computing, neuralink and fibre internet we should be able to remove people from the equation.
I suspect that much of what is today considered to be mental illness, personality disorders, etc., is caused by false beliefs, irrational thinking, the horrible American diet with its processed foods loaded with additives & toxins, and the drugs Big Pharma pushes. Americans have embraced a Victim Mentality and that prevents them from seeing that their own lifestyle contributes to or causes their problems. And how did health professionals get sold on the notion that the solution to physical & mental health problems is….drugs?
My suggestion to all is: (1) Ask yourself "what do I believe and why do I believe it?" and (2) switch to a whole foods natural diet and throw out all the manufactured "foods" in your pantry. And beware of Big Pharma's drugs.
The real hard truth about mental health is : Ostracization
Since autism is labelled a disorder these days, what does not count as a disorder?
Let's see here.
In a society where 99% of the population are schizophrenic and 1% are sane, according to modern-day psychology, the 1% are in fact insane and the rest are not, since they're the dominant majority.
DSM-5 in short:
We're all f'd in the head.
2:06 this is dangerous, we shouldn't gate keep any scientific field
How disgusting! Just a money making scheme!
try out "Traumatic Hero by lentlish" if u need help with traumas
I also saw these teachers in on this bs too as well as putting problematic children in special education to increase funding to schools. While in elementary school same people i grew up with were on no medication were "convinced" by the school school nurse to be on medication by highschool…. crazy
Many MH medications are potentially lifesaving and can significantly enhance the outcomes of an individual, provided the diagnosis and medications are correctly provided.
I'm also not sold that "just two books" is a problem, if anything it should be one book, so we are all clearly speaking the same language.
bla bla bla . . . . AND it always ends the same: "Mental illness is extremely complicated. (that's why we cannot heal people.)".
Thay are incapable of saying "We do not know.". If thay did then they would have to say "Sorry." OMG that never going to happen.
Psychology Psychiatry. Sure. Psycookary and Psyclatery. No evidence, no evidence, decade after decade. Just a joke.
What is described at 4 minutes is exactly what happened
If something comes from a source that promotes deinstitutionalized education, then it will have a strong bias against the establishment (it's ok, we are all biased for or against something). When talking, for example, about the impressive increase in consumption of mental health medications, we can note that there has also been a monstrous increase in the consumption of drugs for obesity, only that since in that case the disease (and its increase) is visible, it does not cause suspicion.
I believe psychology is not a real science; it's too vague, and there is no real consensus among them. The medications they prescribe to people spread in the population like wildfire. If that many people are sick, then who is healthy, or what is a healthy mental state?
Maybe with more technological advancements and research over time, it can become a real SCIENCE
I don’t think we should treat the condition of “human”. It’s not mental illness if a brain is doing what it would be expected to do under the circumstances (yeah, if bad things happen to you, you are probably are going to have emotions such as fear and avoidance about those things just like every other animal displays). This is another example of why maybe it would be better if healthcare was a collective interest rather than a business one.
And when you say all these "disorders" are about money the same system tells you that you are paranoid or psychotic.
Psychologist is the next king😂😂😂
I Think that a lot of pepole May need less pills and diagnoses, and more compassion, and love! And I that the u’s psykiatric Institute would not have to depend on psychiatric companies, and thus be influenced by Them, while still being able to afford expensive research, if it was funded by the u’s govenment! Though the Way u’s politi s are going rhigt now, I dont Think that will happen for a Long time, or at least not in a good Way! (#trumpisadictator)
Being "broken" in some way has gone from being fashionable to be a part of our society.
From the standpoint of this video as a writing task, I must express my respect and admiration. Your script is a model of concise clarity and logical coherence. Likewise it holds up well against my decades of formal and informal learning in psychology. You've conveyed a great deal of solid understanding and valid nuance in 10 minutes.
Your assumptions are spurious and need to be challenged. For example, aren’t the names of psychiatric conditions treatment lines? Your history of mental illness diagnosis is narrowly focused, but being US based perhaps that’s understandable because of your culture’s hegemony and commoditisation of treatment. There are so many countries and cultures with advanced and differing treatments, but, as observed towards the end of the video, you can’t see what’s possible when you live in an ideological box. Perhaps there is no answer, just the need for better questions.. I mean, how unamerican. Apologies beforehand to other nations and peoples of the Americas, but you do see US government representatives often refer to the United States as America, which it isn’t. Blind spot assumptions like that are all too common and unique to the beliefs of culturally dominant empires and nations, a bit like Romans really.
Nintendo switch eshop loading sfx for the intro?
America seems to be at odds with simplicity, as complexity often breeds neuroticism, contributing to widespread mental illness. By preserving and protecting independence, autonomy, and simplicity, we could foster healing for many. 🥰❤🖤
2:13 honesty plays a big part
I was just wondering about this
Hi. Respekt for the trying (and in my opinion succeeding ) to be as neutral as possible! Speaking of mental illness, one in three people are misdiagnosed. I've have beloved one suffer in this situation.
Sadly, doctors don't really question relatives and rely on the patient's testimony.
Warm greetings from Bulgaria.
Forget business interests, the govt should handle it. They at least can be held accountable
For me drugs are only a method to make patient fully coodependent instead of teaching them to handle their own unique way of working.
Drugs should be used only on short term in extreme situations instead of giving it away even to healthy "suspicious" people.
However therapists i knew has mostly focused on having easy money since by representing own experience their argument has been about making money – cool bro.
Or either about having easy way of living having a job in which all they do is listening and giving you pills as solution.
Like sorry but the industry is pretty much corrupted.
I would like to ask you to make a video about alternative ways to treat problems like depression and sleep problems without medication. I think I heard that they exist. And I want to say Thank you and I wish your team a creative mood without administrative and financial problems in this New Year.)))
I know of one channel said to have Schizoid Personality Disorder. She just seems an intelligent introvert.
DMDD is shown to be a pre-cursor to Depression & BPAD. If all your views are to be swallowed up like gospel (which i'm sure you realise most people seeing this will do), lot of children woth DMDD will miss out on the chance to halt the progression of the condition early on. They will miss out on early interventions which include psychotherapy much more than medication in the case of DMDD ( 1 among the many points you either don't know of or conveniently left out). While the criticism of current Psychiatric practice is important the tone of this video seems more derogatory than conscientious. People with mental health conditions have hard enough a time for such half informed content to confuse them further. Wish i had the time to point out the other glaring mistakes in the video. Please do better research. Great video opportunity missed terribly here.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Excellent video. The one thing I cringed at was at the implication that an increase in diagnosed conditions may be due to over diagnosing. While this MAY be a factor, you are lying with data. An increase in diagnoses over time may also be due to: increased awareness of said condition, and/or the changes in the average lifestyle (increased screen time, less time around others, what have you). Thank is the one bone to pick with this video. And, keep in mind, this is not to deny the concept of over diagnosing or over medicating, but not bringing attention to what I did above, I consider, is a misinterpretation of the information.
NO ONE CARED ABOUT ME. I get my day ruined daily because of people picking on me for no reason. People sometimes say video games are good for stuff like this but its completely WORSE
That is not what comorbidity means… stop using AI PLZ
This video is a masterpiece of truth.
Greed is a genetical mental disorder.
Take tofranil an antidepressant discovered in the 1950s it is the only medication that has worked for me. It treats depression panic disorder and ADHD all of the disorders that I have. It’s rarely prescribed now because of the side effects
Want even worse over prescribed SSRI's with are useless for real depression i got PSSD from this, now i have 2 problem worsened depression and pssd syndrome, anhedonia apathy no emotions no felling of love this is already going for 5 years no one was tell about pssd syndrome my life was ruined by just week on SSRI's, now this condition are ignored by medical community and i just get gaslightited by any doctors they are keep telling me to take SSRI's because this is just depression, what are don't because there's part's of syndrome with are impossible to explain by depression, there also PFS syndrome, same problem same symptoms but it was caused by hairloss drugs, same no warning about it,same ignorense from medical community, ppl end life in this condition no joke, and they're never had any condition before this drug
I love the animation and how informative it is. Very simply explained. Great video!
My meds don’t really work that well for me as they should. I hallucinate more, feel more anxious and worried, and can’t control my thoughts. It feels like torture for me.
amazing video! 🙂
